Trio Spektrum
founded in 1994, is a distinctive
chamber ensemble featuring:
Marilyn Shotola, flutist
Stan Stanford,, clarinetist
Tomas Svoboda, pianist
The variety of tone colors and
timbres within the ensemble
creates an exciting array of
musical expression.
The Trio's repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary
styles. Their first recording focuses on Bohemian music
specifically written for Trio Spektrum by contemporary Czech
composers Jaroslav Krcek,
Jan Malek and Tomas Svoboda.
The artists of the ensemble, all members of the music faculty at
Portland State University in Portland, Oregon, have performed
together in many venues, including the 1997 National Flute
Association Convention.
